Overview

The document outlines a comprehensive training structure for recreational levels in cheerleading and gymnastics. It includes detailed sections on stunts, tumbling, jumps, shapes, balances, spins, leaps, preacrobatic skills, waves, ballet, and apparatus handling (ribbon, hoop, ball, and clubs). Each section specifies exercises and skills to be developed, such as connecting jumps, various balance techniques, handstands, backbends, and specific apparatus manipulations like throws, rolls, and rotations.

Goals of the Programme

Our recreational programme is one of our five available programmes. It is also the default entry level programme where all our participants start. All our programmes are goal based, not ability based.

These goals are as follows:

Level Progression

Level Progression Events will be held twice a year. For gymnasts to progress to the next level, they will need to attend these events. Even if the gymnasts do not pass a level, they will still receive badges for the blocks that they did master.

Each level includes different blocks of elements. (See image below). Gymnasts need to master all of them to move on to the next level. Please note that it can take more than one assessment to get all the badges. Children will however be evaluated on the badges that they did not obtain already, meaning they won’t need to practice any element they already mastered in order for them to focus their energy on the elements they haven't mastered yet.

The more advanced the level, the more time it may take to pass the assessment. Level One skills and elements will likely be mastered at a faster pace than level two and beyond, meaning participant’s will spend more time in each level than the previous one.
